Zay Flowers has a world to live up to heading into the 2024 season .

Flowers, fresh off a season where he led the Ravens with 77 catches, has to build off a good start to his career with an even better sophomore season. To get there, the 23-year-old is trusting his connection to Lamar Jackson and a work ethic that differs from most at his position.

“You have to be dedicated to your craft and you’ve got to want to get better,” Flowers said to Mike Jones , via The Athletic . “You’ve got to be willing to be coachable. Honestly, it’s just about putting in work every day. Just being who you want to be. I go out every day, putting in work on small details like route running, [and] high-pointing the ball; all small things that make you a great receiver. And that’s what I’m still trying to become.”

Flowers added: “I don’t look at last year like a great year for me. I feel like it’s just a year for me to just get better off of and something for me to measure myself. That was my first time in the league. So now that I know what it’s like, I feel like I’ve got a lot of work to do.”

For the Ravens offense to find success, Flowers has to be the engine at wide receiver. He had glimpses of it during his rookie season, notching 858 yards and five touchdowns.

Jackson trusts him. Now it will come down to the Ravens' offense peaking at the right time to find the long-coveted success of the Jackson era.
