Steelers rookie sneaks his way onto the initial 53-man roster in a surprising move from Pittsburgh

Well, the dust has finally settled.

The 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers have made their final cuts en route to their official, but only initial 53-man roster .

Largely chalk, there weren't any waives or releases that made you scratch your head, but there was one retention that created some pause: rookie sixth-rounder Logan Lee.

    Lee Makes the 53

Lee, a day three pick fro Iowa, always faced an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. Placed into arguably the deepest position group on the team, Lee is safe, at least for now.

The next 24 to 48 hours are some of the most dynamic in the sport, with moves set to come far and wide, including some potential waiver wire adds for Pittsburgh.

So the move signals either Lee is set to be released in a corresponding situation, or he did enough to instill confidence in Pittsburgh.

Having missed the preseason finale against the Detriot Lions with injury, Lee was used out of position before that and incurred some struggles.

Perhaps Pittsburgh knows as much, and they have seen enough flashes to keep Lee around for the future.

If so, good for him, as he completes a lifelong dream:

"I grew up a huge Steelers fan my whole life," Lee said when he was drafted . "I am beyond blessed. I started really getting into the thick of the historical NFL stuff. I just loved the Steel Curtain era stuff. I loved watching Mel Blount slam people on their heads and stuff. I was always a big Steelers fan growing up."

Your team 🖤💛 still have Russell Wilson at QB? He'd still be a Seahawk if he hadn't got greedy $$$. I still wish him the best with the Steelers!
