Notre Dame football officially kicks off the 2024 season on Saturday night when they travel to Kyle Field to take on the Texas A&M Aggies. This may be the most heavily anticipated game of any contest week one, putting the No. 7 Irish squad against the No. 20 A&M squad that is now led by head coach Mike Elko .

It promises to be an entertaining contest. With the changes around the program in College Station, it has left the national media to guess about what the Aggies are going to look like this season. Notre Dame is going to have to be ready for anything. The talent will be there but what will it look like ultimately this season?

Where to watch, stream, and listen to Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m., Aug. 31; Kyle Field, College Station, Texas

    Where to watch: ABC

Here are the announcers for the Notre Dame-Texas A&M game:

    Chris Fowler (play-by-play)

    Kirk Herbstreit (analysis)

Stream: YouTube TV, Fubo, Hulu+, Sling TV

    Radio: Locally on 960 WSBT-AM/101.5 WNSN-FM.

    Notre Dame’s 2024 schedule:

    • Aug. 31 – at Texas A&M
    • Sept. 7 – Northern Illinois
    • Sept. 14 – Purdue
    • Sept. 21 – Miami (OH)
    • Sept. 28 – Louisville
    • Oct. 5 – Bye
    • Oct. 12 – Stanford
    • Oct. 19 – at Georgia Tech
    • Oct. 26 – Navy (neutral)
    • Nov. 2 – Bye
    • Nov. 9 – Florida State
    • Nov. 16 – Virginia
    • Nov. 23 – Army (neutral)
    • Nov. 30 – at USC

Notre Dame has lost far too many of these types of games in recent years, primetime contests on the biggest stage. Entering year three under head coach Marcus Freeman, the pressure is on. Coach Freeman has upped the recruiting game with the program, and has continued to stockpile talent and an impressive coaching staff. On paper, there’s no reason they should lose this football game.

For Texas A&M, they have a chance to set the tone for the Mike Elko Era. The previous regime did a good job of acquiring talent into the program, but a terrible job of developing and implementing it. Most expect it to start trending in a much better direction. The question is whether we will see the changes immediately in year one, or even in the opener.
