The Los Angeles Chargers are giving a new deal to one of their own best, young players.

Chargers extend star kicker Cameron Dicker

It is a four-year, $22 million deal that includes $12.5M guaranteed, according to Adam Schefter. Massive payday for one of the best boots in ball.

Dicker has reached fan favorite status so far in his pro career. His fun name and top notch performances have blended into one of the most well-known kickers in football. He's still just 24 years old.

Over his first two seasons in the NFL, he's made 94.5% of his field goals attempts. Dicker has never missed an extra point try, either. He's been the definition of reliable.

That's all you can ask for at the kicker position. Accordingly, the Chargers wanted to long him down in the long-term. Both sides should be exuberant regarding this deal coming to fruition.

Dicker went undrafted two years ago coming out of Texas. No one seemed to believe in him. After being cut by the Los Angeles Rams as a punter in his first training camp, Dicker signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and then the Chargers as a kicker.

That choice by LA has paid off in a major way.

Dicker has been one of the most accurate young kickers in NFL history to begin his career. Los Angeles made sure he felt like he was paid like one.
