Mark Andrews has a new perspective on life following a scary car crash that could have been 100 times worse.

After returning to practice for the first time since his Aug. 14 car accident, Andrews discussed his new lease on life and how fortunate he felt to escape the scary incident.

"It's extremely scary, it's definitely a serious thing," Andrews said via the Baltimore Ravens' official website. "For me, it puts things in perspective. Tell the people that you're around that you love them. Wear your seatbelt. You never know what's going to happen on the road. I'm very blessed and fortunate to have God on my side and to be wearing my seat belt. I feel good. I'm excited about the season."

Andrews will play a massive, again, for the Ravens offense and Lamar Jackson. Recently, the team's general manager, Eric DeCosta , explained why the veteran tight end alongside Isaiah Likely is central to Baltimore's success.

    The veteran knows that.

It is why he pushed hard to return to practice following the car crash.

"I've always had the kind of mindset of being resilient, moving forward," Andrews said. "You can't take things for granted. For me, it definitely showed me that.

"At first, it's a pretty big shock. I was in meetings probably an hour later (after the accident) and people were like, 'What are you doing here?'"

With Andrews back in the fold, Baltimore feels confident heading into Thursday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
