    The fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns open the 2024 season at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against the Colorado State Rams at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

    Tickets are sold out, and there are more than 100,000 fans expected to cram into the now 100-year-old facility for the festivities.

    Texas is a 32.5-point favorite against Colorado State. The Longhorns are 108-20-3 all-time in season openers and have won five straight dating back to 2019. This is also the 26th time in the last 29 years the Horns have opened at home.

    Texas and Colorado State are meeting for just the second time in school history. The two teams first met in 1975 with the Longhorns capturing a 46-0 victory. UT is also 15-0 all-time against current teams from the Mountain West conference.
