Saturday meant that college football was back in full swing and Ohio State started things off with a lopsided win over Akron . However, that was not the only win that the Buckeyes picked up this weekend.

According to recruiting rankings, Ohio State took a step back in recruiting the wide receiver position this year after landing five-star players Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham last cycle. Ohio State now has four wide receivers committed thanks to their latest addition.

2025 wideout Phillip Bell chose the Buckeyes on Saturday night over USC, who was the expected favorite to land the four-star wide receiver from Mission Viejo, California on Saturday. Instead, Brian Hartline picked up another recruiting win and got the verbal pledge from Bell.

Bell is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout who is the No. 184 player in the country, according to 247 Sports’ Composite rankings . Bell joins De’Zie Jones, Quincy Porter, and Bodpegn Miller as Ohio State’s wide receiver commits for this class. The Buckeyes are likely done at the position following the addition of Bell.

During his junior season, Bell caught 56 passes for 644 yards and seven touchdowns. As a sophomore, it was 73 passes caught for 818 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The recruiting class keeps moving along for Ohio State and they remain with the No. 1 class, according to 247 Sports’ Team Rankings. With 26 players committed, Ohio State is just about to the finish line for what is another remarkable recruiting class for them.
