The Alabama Crimson Tide made easy work of their opponent on Saturday, winning 63-0 to start a new era at the Capstone.

A remarkable performance, there is always room for growth and development, but it's going to be hard to play a more well-rounded game than Saturday night.

Everyone got involved for the Tide, including freshman WR Ryan Williams, who wasn't even supposed to be on that field.

HC Kalen DeBoer knew as much, but he only added to the hype surrounding the budding star after sharing something few others know about Williams:

    DeBoer Bullish on Williams

"He's got that big play capability as you saw, and he's done a lot of that in practice," DeBoer said of Williams when asked about the freshman's debut. "I was excited to see him get out there. That big third down down the sideline. Great read by Jalen with the coverage he was getting, and we anticipated a possible route down the sideline in a situation like that. It was really cool to see those guys execute. And Ryan just, you know, hauling in the ball and finishing. Coming across the middle, and the second touchdown, just really focused. And it just doesn't seem like the game's too fast for him. So it's impressive that a guy at his age can go out there and do the things he's doing."

It's no secret that Williams is a lot better than he's supposed to be . Sure it was Western Kentucky, but that's a program where plenty of NFL players have come from and one that consistently competes in their conference. To be 17 years old and doing that on a college football field opposed to a high school one is beyond impressive.

Perhaps even more impressive is what DeBoer shared on Williams' off the field mentality, only adding to what is becoming a full steam-ahead hype train in Tuscaloosa.

"Obviously, we've talked a lot about it. He's got a bright future, so it's really fun to see him go out there and make those plays that he did tonight," added DeBoer on Williams. "So guys believe in him. I think one of the cool things about Ryan is how he's gone about it. You know, a lot of attention gets thrown his way, but he's just really humble and you know, matter-of-fact. He stays the course. Just a go to work every type of day attitude. And our guys really appreciate that. And I think they're just as excited as he is for him and the plays that he made today.

It's early, but if Williams builds off his debut, showing he's far more substance than sizzle, the Tide might be a major problem for the rest of the country.
