Houston Texans add fuel to the fire to Bills Mafia's still-ongoing Stefon Diggs debate

After moving on from their star wide receiver this offseason, Buffalo Bills' former No. 1 wide receiver Stefon Diggs is reportedly fitting in just fine in Houston. For all the talk about Diggs' locker room drama in Buffalo, his new teammates have named him a team captain going into the new season.

Diggs is quite familiar with being a team captain. He was a captain for the Bills each of the last three seasons, making it his fourth straight year with a "C" on his chest.

The star wide receiver is obviously vocal, both in games, on the sidelines, and with the media. That's just who he is. Diggs talks. Some see it as a negative and a distraction, others see it as a leader leading. In the preseason, Diggs was seen talking with second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud on the sideline, and the clip was interpreted a thousand different ways online, which perfectly encapsulates the diverse viewpoints that exist about Diggs' style as a leader.

Was he complaining, or was he just talking ball with his quarterback to get on the same page? I'd bet money it was the latter.

I'm also not convinced Diggs needed a fresh start. Things were good in Buffalo, where he recorded four-straight seasons of over 1,000 yards and at least eight touchdowns. Whatever the reason, Bills' GM Brandon Beane decided it was time to move on, and Houston seems happy to have him providing leadership to a young wide receiver room and veteran experience for their budding superstar quarterback.

No matter how it plays out, the Bills and Diggs will continue to be linked, with plenty of eyes keeping tabs on how both sides fare in their first season apart. There are questions about what role Diggs could have in a crowded wide receiver room in Houston, while Buffalo is looking for answers from Keon Coleman , Khalil Shakir , and the rest of the offense. Buffalo will get a fresh look at the new Texans captain when they travel to Houston for a Week 5 matchup.
