Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin have found their Quinshon Judkins replacement at RB as the Rebels destroy MTSU

After Ole Miss struggled to run the football against an FCS team in Furman last week Lane Kiffin made it clear that he wanted to establish the run in Week 2 . The Rebels have been looking to get their running game right ever since star RB Quinshon Judkins left to join the Ohio State Buckeyes. And through one week of action it looked like they might have a real problem.

Not anymore. Thanks to one newfound star running back it looks as though Ole Miss may have their feature back on the roster already after all! Henry Parrish Jr., the running back who transferred away to Miami then rejoined Ole Miss this off-season racked up an astounding 165 rushing yards on 14 carries on Saturday against MTSU.

Just a week after Ole Miss saw exactly zero running backs eclipse even 70 yards or eight carries against Furman, Parrish stepped up as the potential foundational feature running back for the Rebels. While it was true that Parrish led the backfield in snaps with 30 in Week 1 action, Ulysses Bentely IV, Matt Jones, and Rashad Amos all saw double digit snaps too.

It seemed that Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss coaching staff were already leaning towards entrusting Parrish Jr. with the lead running back role, but after a dominant performance like this week's there's no way any other RB is in the running at all now.

Parrish Jr. may not be the massive 6'0", 220-pound running back that Quinshon Judkins was for Ole Miss over the past two years, but he certainly makes up for it with his speed and burst. At 5'10", 185 pounds, Parrish has consistently used his speed and contact balance to bounce off initial contact as he's averaged three yards after contact throughout his entire collegiate career. It looks like he'll be on an even more impressive pace in that regard after this week's matchup.

Parrish has never handled more than 148 total touches between carries and receptions so it may be a little bit much to expect him to turn around and average more then 20 touches per week, but he's clearly established himself as the lead dog for Lane Kiffin and company.
