Georgia Bulldogs running back Branson Robinson had to watch his team from the sidelines last fall after suffering a season-ending torn patella tendon in fall camp.

Now healthy, this year looks a lot different for Robinson, who rushed in his first touchdown since 2022 in the Bulldogs' 48-3 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Robinson even knocked down a few defenders to punch his way over the goal line from 13 yards out. His touchdown put the Bulldogs up 45-0 in the third quarter and his teammates joined him in the endzone to celebrate.

"That's connection," Robinson said. "It's been a long journey for me and my teammates know that."

It's been an uphill battle for Robinson to make his way back to the gridiron, but he's had a lot of support, including from former Georgia star and All-Pro running back Nick Chubb.

Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury in 2015 against Tennesse during his sophomore year, so he had plenty of advice and words of encouragement for Robinson.

"He helped me a lot," Robinson said. "He told me just to hone in on the rehab and everything will take care of itself."

Along with Branson's teammates, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was also happy to see him get points on the board again but said he still has work to do in order to get back to his old self.

“It’s awesome. It’s great. Branson works really hard," Smart said. "Branson’s a good back. He’s still coming back to his old self. I thought he had a good cut today and made some guys miss. He’s a great back, man. He’s just got to get back to full strength.”

Robinson finished the day running three times for 22 yards and one score. He also added 21 yards in the air on two targets.
