The Minnesota Vikings got a huge win both metaphorically and literally on Sunday afternoon after beating the New York Giants 28-6. The trenches dominated for the Vikings after some struggles early on but the skill position players did a lot as well.

One of those is wide receiver Jordan Addison, who looked explosive in his three catches for 35 yards. The Vikings announced during the third quarter that he would not return during the game due to an ankle injury.

Jordan Addison's ankle injury is not the same

When the ankle injury was initially reported , it was thought that he had re-injured the same ankle that he had injured during joint practices with the Cleveland Browns. That ended up not being the case.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters during his postgame press conference that Addison injured the other ankle.

If it's a low ankle sprain and not a high ankle sprain, that's excellent news for the Vikings. It could mean Addison will play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. On the flip side, having a lack of stability in both ankles could end up being a negative for Addison long-term this season and the Vikings might want to play it safe.

We won't know more until they do some more tests, but two ankle injuries is not good for Addison.
