The Las Vegas Raiders didn't end up winning their opening game of the season. In fact, it wasn't pretty. Bad decisions by Antonio Pierce in terms of punting when he should go for it, and the offensive line being bad lost the game for the Raiders, among other offensive issues.

But, even though on the stat sheet he didn't have an amazing game, Davante Adams still did something spectacular.

Since joining the Raiders in 2022, Adams, statistically has stayed the same guy, who is known as one of the best wide receivers in the league. But, it's been much more of a challenge doing that than it was with the Green Bay Packers.

His first year with the team saw him set a franchise record with 1,516 receiving yards, showcasing his ability to dominate on the field even with a change in quarterback dynamics. It just didn't look as easy as we are accustomed to seeing.

His career with the Raiders has also been tinged with frustration , reflected in the team's overall record and the challenges of integrating with different quarterback playstyles. Despite these challenges, Adams' performance has consistently demanded respect, because he's just that good.

We may see more of that in 2024 with how the offense looked against the Los Angeles Chargers. But, he did go ahead and extend a streak that's very impressive, one of the more impressive ones in NFL history.

According to the Raiders PR team, Adams had had at least one catch in 132 consecutive games played, which is good enough for the fourth-longest active streak in the NFL. If there's one bet you can place every game, it's that Adams will have at least one catch on that day. The longest streak all time is held by Jerry Rice, for 184 games, which, is far from Adams, but very obtainable.

Against the Chargers, he finished with just five catches for 59 yards, two yards behind Jakobi Meyers. I expect that to be better.
