The Las Vegas Raiders have a current player who is already one of the best Raiders of all time. To get to the top of that list, he just needs a Super Bowl win, but that could never happen, or it could happen this year, we just don't know.

What we do know, is that Maxx Crosby is the closest thing to the Raiders of old that we have in modern time. He embodies what it means to be a Raider , and even has the shield tattoed on himself.

Sunday's season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers didn't go exactly how the team planned for it to go. They lost a game that was more than winnable, and a large part of that is due to the offense being so bad.

The defense, for the most part, carried their load of the work that was supposed to be done, and that includes Crosby, who actually had a great game.

Crosby had such a great game, that he ended up moving on up the list of all-time great Raiders defenders. Here is what the Raiders PR team tweeted out during the game after Crosby got a sack and a tackle for loss.

Maxx Crosby brings down Chargers QB Justin Herbert for a loss of 4 on third down to force an LAC punt. Crosby notches his first sack of the season and now brings his career total to 53.0, tying Bill Pickel (53.0) for the fourth most sacks in Raiders history. DE Maxx Crosby notched his eighth consecutive game with at least one tackle for loss, dating back to Week 11 of 2023 at Miami. His eight-game streak with a tackle for loss is the longest active streak in the NFL.

The Raiders are lucky to have Maxx Crosby, a guy who plays every single snap, is unstoppable one-on-one, and goes 110 miles per hour no matter what is going on. Despite the loss, he played great, and it should make fans optimistic that they will at least have a great defense in 2024, despite how the offense looks.

He'll show up again next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
