After the New Orleans Saints' Week 1 domination of the Carolina Panthers, social media has been a whirlwind for the black and gold.

Many folks are already crowning the Saints as the most surprising team of the season already. Others want the hype to slow down because the Panthers are not a good football team.

In reality, somewhere in between those two concepts is where this 47-10 win should sit for New Orleans. Some Saints players chimed in on social media after the win, too.

Rashid Shaheed wants Saints fans to believe

Shaheed's tweet following the game was short and simple. He simply said, "Believe" regarding the Saints' outlook for the season.

Clearly, he has heard the murmurs of doubt throughout the offseason. Shaheed wants fans to give New Orleans a shot when it comes to a postseason return. They believe in each other, and maybe they were smart too - considering their massive Week 1 victory.

Tyrann Mathieu celebrates swiftly on social media

The veteran safety had a great Week 1 performance, forcing and recovering a fumble. The energetic leader of the Saints secondary had a simple message after the game, too.

Mathieu posted, "Saints Win" shortly after the conclusion of the game. For Saints fans, they hope that posts like that one become a consistent activity for Mathieu this season.

The Saints battle the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, a much tougher task than Carolina presented. Let's see how they navigate it.
