The vibes are high in The Big Easy. The New Orleans Saints dominated the Carolina Panthers, 47-10, in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys got off to a great start in 2024 with a blowout win over the Cleveland Browns.

Both of those 1-0 NFC squads have division-winning aspirations. Week 2 will be a major stepping stone for both the Saints and Cowboys when they meet.

    Marshon Lattmore's injury considered minor

The Saints' top cornerback left their Week 1 matchup in the second half due to a hamstring issue. After the game, Lattimore downplayed the injury, saying he was "good" after coming out of the blowout victory.

Dennis Allen did not know specifics in his postgame presser, but the Saints got an update on Lattimore's status on Monday morning. The hamstring injury was, in fact, just a minor one for Lattimore.

Lattimore seems to have a good chance to play against Dallas in Week 2. That being said, do not be surprised if New Orleans holds him out of practice for much of this week. They do not want to risk anything by pushing him back onto the field.

Jake Ferguson considered week to week

The Cowboys talented tight end suffered a knee injury in their Week 1 win. When it happened, it did not look pretty. Many folks expected it to be a long-term issue for Ferguson, even a potential ACL/MCL tear.

Instead, he avoided major injury. Great news for the young TE and Dallas' offense.

Ferguson is considered week-to-week with a sprained MCL. There is a chance he plays against New Orleans.

All in all, the Saints came out of Week 1 rather healthy.

Lucas Patrick is dealing with a toe injury that took him out of the game against Carolina, and tight end Foster Moreau has a concussion. Those two are the biggest Saints situations to monitor regarding their health, outside of Lattimore. Willie Gay Jr. is also a bit banged up.

We will see who can suit up for the black and gold in Week 2. With a win, the Saints can get off to an amazing start in 2024.
