The Kansas City Chiefs got good injury news on the other side of their Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

After the game, Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed there were no major injuries to discuss. Any player that exited the game due to injury eventually returned and finished the game.

"Everybody that got dinged there a little bit, finished," Reid said after the game. "(Trent) McDuffie, (Malik) Herring, Mike Danna, and Leo (Chenal), they all were able to return and play."

On Monday following Week 1, Reid reiterated that the team is in a good spot when it comes to their health. It doesn't appear they'll be dealing with any new injuries for Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"We came out relatively healthy," Reid said. "There is really nothing (injuries) to report. We'll see where Hollywood (Brown) works out with all of the tests that he's going to have this week. We'll just see where we're at. Other than that, I don't have much to report in that area."

Reid further elaborated on Hollywood Brown, who missed Week 1 with a sternoclavicular joint injury , later on during his press conference.

Hollywood Brown is heading in the right direction

The Chiefs have described Brown's sternoclavicular joint injury in terms of the injury that Tyreek Hill suffered back in Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season. If Brown were to follow Hill's recovery timeline, he should theoretically be able to play in Week 2 against the Bengals.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid isn't ruling him out for Week 2, but he was also non-commital on his availability as of Monday. The important thing to note is that Reid believes Brown is trending in the right direction, not necessarily when it comes to playing in Week 2, but just in general.

"Listen, everybody is different, but it's the same type of injury," Reid said of the comparison between Brown and Hill's injuries. "He's getting close. I know he's feeling better. We've got to just kind of see how it goes from here. He's been doing periodic tests on him to make sure he's heading in the right direction and scans and all of that. It's looking like it's heading in the right direction, we've just got to see where it goes from there."

The last thing you want to have with this type of injury is a setback. Expect Rick Burkholder and the rest of the training staff to proceed with an abundance of caution. Last week proved that they've got the firepower to get by without Brown should he need another week or more to recover from the injury. Getting him back in the fold and as close to 100% as possible is going to be key to him having a successful 2024 campaign in Kansas City.
