The Florida State Seminoles are suffering both on the field and off the field despite high hopes for how the 2024 season would play out. But Mike Norvell's team is now 0-2 and is headed downward. One day after 4-star defensive tackle Myron Charles flipped to Texas, the Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide are looking to flip 4-star pass-rusher Javion Hilson.

Hilson already started the process of leaving the Seminoles' 2025 class, decomitting via his Twitter.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to decommit from Florida State and reopen my recruitment," Hilson posted on X.com. "I will be making my final decision in December. Thank you to everyone at FSU for their support."

Hilson, 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, is the third-ranked EDGE defender in the nation and a top-45 overall player. Losing him is a big deal, and he's a local product from Cocoa, Florida.

Texas has already seemingly taken Hilson's interest, even more so than Alabama. According to On3 insider Steve Wiltfong , the Longhorns are "setting the pace right now." He's logged a prediction Hilson will end up in Austin.

    Javion Hilson Scouting Report

A dynamic edge rusher with elongated limbs and rapid upfield acceleration. This player thrives as a direct attacker, consistently pressuring quarterbacks while operating in a wide 9 alignment within a four-man defensive line.

As of the spring before his junior year, he was nearly 6-foot-4 and weighed 225 pounds, though he has since bulked up in preparation for his senior year, indicating potential for further physical development. His relentless pursuit and determination enable him to make plays beyond his designated area.

Possessing a strong initial impact, he makes it difficult for opposing linemen to engage with him, though he needs to enhance his ability to maintain position against run plays directed at him. Improving his flexibility could also increase his sack totals, enabling him to bend more efficiently around the edge.

His blend of physical characteristics, performance metrics, and athletic capability indicates significant growth potential. This player is on track to become a key contributor at a high-major program, possibly contending for the College Football Playoff and has the potential to be selected in the early rounds of the NFL Draft.
