The Las Vegas Raiders are in the market for another defensive end. They weren't before the season started, but after an emerging roster issue, they now need one, and they need one quickly.

Malcolm Koonce, who finished with eight sacks last season, missed Week 1 after a practice incident . He was then placed on IR, meaning he will not be able to play until Week 5, against the Denver Broncos . That's a big piece the Raiders were going to be without, but, no worry, they still had Tyree Wilson, the second-year defensive end who was the seventh overall pick, right?

Well, wrong, kind of. He played, just not very long, as he suffered a knee sprain and had to leave. Luckily the injury wasn't as bad as they initially thought it was, and the team dodged a bullet . But, they still need another player there because Charles Snowden, a practice squad player, won't get it done for a full game.

So, as Antonio Pierce said they would do, the Raiders are going to get another edge rusher to help for the time being. On Tuesday, they are already holding a tryout, but for a former first-round pick.

According to Aaron Wilson of KCPR 2, the Raiders are hosting a tryout for K'lavon Chaisson, the former Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars edge rusher.

Chaisson played college football at LSU, where he made a significant impact. As a true freshman, he was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team after recording 27 tackles and two sacks. His sophomore season was highlighted by leading the team with 6.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss, earning him first-team All-SEC honors.

He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 20th overall pick, where he played from 2020 to 2023. His highest sack total in a season being two in 2023 shows that he hadn't quite lived up to expectations.

In the 2024 offseason, Chaisson signed with the Carolina Panthers on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. He was later released by the Panthers.

Who knows, maybe it could work in Las Vegas. If signed, we may see him a few times against the Baltimore Ravens.
