Legendary Lion finally gets nominated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors category, 14 other former Lions join him

15 former Detroit Lions were nominated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors category Monday . The seniors category is for players that finished playing football at least 25 years ago. So the latest a player on this list could have played was in 1999. Here's some of the big names you'll remember from the list.

Mel Gray

One of the best return men to ever play the game. A four time ALL-Pro and four time Pro Bowler, Gray tore the league up when he had a chance to return. Anyone who has every played NFL Football 94 for Sega knows that all you got to do is hit the turbo button and spin button and you will get a touchdown every single time. This guy should have been in a long time ago.

Kevin Glover

At one point Glover was one of the very best interior offensive linemen in the NFL. He was an All-Pro and multi-time Pro Bowler as well in his 12 seasons with the Lions. He's a member of the Lions All-Time Team. Glover also played for the Seahawks for two seasons before retiring in 1999.

• QB Dave Krieg: Played with the Lions during the 1994 season.
• FB Pat Harder: Played with the Lions from 1951 to 1953. Helped the Lions win the NFL Championship in 1952 and 1953.
• RB Marv Hubbard: Played with the Lions during the 1977 season.
• Edge Pat Swilling: Played the Lions in 1993 and 1994.
• HB Glenn Presnell: Played for the Lions/Spartans from 1931 to 1936.
• WR Pat Studstill: Played for the Lions from 1961 to 1967.
• G Ox Emerson: Played with the Lions/Spartans from 1934 to 1937.
• G Bill Fralic: Played  for the Lions in 1993.
• De Al "Bubba" Baker: Played for the Lions from 1978 to 1982.
• DT Roger Brown: Played for the Lions from 1960 to 1966.
• DE Bill Glass: Played with the Lions from 1958 to 1961.
• DB Don Doll: Played with the Lions from  1949 to 1952.
• DB Dave Whitsel: Played with the Lions from 1958 to 1960.
