When it comes to five star wide receiver recruits, the battle to flip a commitment is seemingly never over until it's officially over. The epic saga of five star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham's recruiting journey is no exception.

After making official visits to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee this summer Caleb Cunningham decided to commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide in July. This came after he also made nearly a dozen unofficial visits to Ole Miss, his in-state favorite school throughout his recruitment. And ever since his recruitment has "closed" Ole Miss has been the one school who has never given up.

In fact, since Cunningham has committed they reportedly don't go a day without talking to him. And despite Cunningham just having visited Alabama yet again this past weekend, and apparently heading to Starkville this coming week, some experts close to the recruitment believe the battle for Cunningham's services is far from over for Ole Miss.

In an interview just this week with BamaHammer.com Cunningham reportedly is both all in with Alabama but is also somehow "focusing on" Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn, emphasizing the relationships he has with those schools as being extremely important in his recruiting decision. It's still going to be tough to pull him away from Alabama, but it seems there's still a path via his own admission.

If one thing is going to keep Caleb Cunningham away from flipping to Ole Miss it's likely going to be a few key relationships. First with the Alabama coaching staff, as that has been a consistent point of emphasis in multiple interviews since his commitment. Kalen DeBoer's persistence in not only talking about football, but talking about real life has made a huge impact with Cunningham.

And then there's top tier running back recruit Akylin Dear, another top high school player from Mississippi. Those two had discussed on multiple occasions about the possibility of playing together in college, even before Dear decommitted from Ole Miss and Cunningham chose Alabama.

It's still somewhat of a long shot for Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin to pull off the flip, but they're still working every week to make it happen. And if Jaxson Dart and his quartet of highly productive receiving threats continue to dominate as they have thus far this season there may be a real chance Cunningham considers heading to Oxford again here soon.
