Former Georgia Bulldogs QB says there's 'no doubt' who the best QB in the SEC will be a year from now

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray doesn't think there's any doubt who the best quarterback in the SEC will be a year from now.

Murray, who played at Georgia from 2009 to 2013 before spending four years in the NFL, joined The Next Round this week and he was asked who he thinks the best quarterback in the SEC will be a year from now in 2025.

And he didn't hesitate to throw out Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava as his pick.

"Oh, it's Nico, there's no doubt about it," said Murray.

Murray also pointed out Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway, a former five-star recruit, as a player that could get in that conversation. But Murray noted that's only if Lagway stays at Florida beyond the 2024 season (which could be dependent on whether or not the Gators fired head coach Billy Napier this fall).

Iamaleava only has three career collegiate starts under his belt, but if he continues to progress this season, there's a very realistic chance he could be the best quarterback in the SEC by the end of the 2024 season.

He’s good but he’s not close of being the best in the SEC. I’m not saying he won’t be but he’s not even in the conversation as of now. I guess he’s just trying to be controversial for his job. 1. Evers 2. Beck 3. Dart 4. Milroe
