Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Friday that cornerback Nate Wiggins was involved in a car accident this week. He does not expect him to play Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders .

"Nate was in a car accident a couple days ago," Harbaugh said. "Looks like he's not going to be able to make it to the game, so he'll be out for this game. He's fine, he's healthy, he's just not gonna play."

The most important thing is that Wiggins is alright, which Harbaugh did clarify, but his status for at least this week is confirmed. He missed Thursday's practice and was listed with a neck injury.

Baltimore has had a rough year with car accidents. Tight end Mark Andrews , outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, and inside linebacker Josh Ross were all involved with separate incidents over the summer.

Now Wiggins, the team's first-round pick, will have to miss at least a week following yet another incident. Van Noy isn't likely to play after he suffered an orbital bone fracture last week .

Wiggins played 17 snaps in Baltimore's season-opener last Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs behind starters Marlon Humphrey and Brandon Stephens, but he out-snapped Jaylen Armour-Davis (14) in Week 1. Armour-Davis will play outside when the Ravens deploy their nickel defense and use Humphrey in the slot.

Neck injuries can be tricky, so it's best to give Wiggins as much times as he needs before returning.
