The Las Vegas Raiders made a move on the week that is strictly for depth and injury concerns. However, that player ,sky already be up to speed and ready to play against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Raiders played the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, but unfortunately for them, they had an injury bug before the game, with underrated defensive end Malcolm Koonce missing the game, and a Tyree Wilson getting hurt early. That forced Jamarcus Robinson and Charles Snowden to do the bulk of the work opposite of Maxx Crosby.

So, the Raiders went out and signed a former first round pick in defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson, formerly with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers. Chaisson was an addition to help with depth until the two others get back.

Because of his signing being in the middle of the week, it was thought that he could miss Week 2, and not be activated off of the practice squad. But, that is not at all the case.

When the Raiders announced their practice squad elevations on Saturday, there were two players elevated. One was Sam Webb, as rookie CB Decamerion Richardson is out. Then they elevated Chaisson, which means he must be somewhat up to speed.

Now, this doesn’t mean Chaisson will for sure play, but it does mean he will be available.
