Panthers’ Adam Thielen sends strong message to Bryce Young, other teammates after 0-2 start

It was another lopsided loss for the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 when they took on the Los Angeles Chargers.

Losing is tough enough, but when you are being outscored 73-13 through two games, it is a bit more defeating.

The offense as a whole failed to score a touchdown in the 26-3 loss to the Chargers and things are tough for the Panthers early in the 2024 season. Naturally, a lot of the blame goes to the quarterback and former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young.

Veteran wideout Adam Thielen stood up for Young following the game and sent a message to the team in the process of it.

"I love Bryce to death, man. He works his butt off. He's a great player. This is not a Bryce Young issue,” Thielen said after the game, via Ashley Stroehlein. “It is an offensive team issue. We are all in this together. I know what football is, that's why I love this game with everything I have because it is the greatest team game. It’s not about an individual."

Thielen did what most veteran leaders would try to do in this situation and that is give his quarterback a boost of confidence when he needs it most . Against the Chargers, Young finished 18-of-26 passing for just 84 yards and an interception. Thielen caught a pair off passes from Young for 20 yards against Los Angeles.

Next up for the Panthers will be the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, then the Chicago Bears. The offense is going to have to start scoring touchdowns if they want to be of any challenge this season and perhaps Thielen’s message can only help that cause.

Dag…..I really feel for the fan base in NC because as a fan, I’ve been there. We here in Washington, D.C., were held captive by a really bad owner for a few decades and we saw no way out. I can’t tell you how elated the fans here in Washington were when Dan Snyder finally sold the team.
