Former Florida HC Steve Spurrier says Chiefs' win against Bengals was 'pure luck'

Legendary former Florida Gators head coach Steve Spurrier thinks the Kansas City Chiefs' 26-25 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 was "pure luck".

Spurrier joined Another Dooley Noted Podcast on Monday for his weekly appearance and he briefly discussed the Chiefs' win against the Bengals in Week 2.

The head ball coach specifically pointed out the defensive pass interference penalty that was called against the Bengals late in the fourth quarter which set up the game-winning field goal for the Chiefs.

"That was pure luck, my golly" said Spurrier. "Jump ball, interference -- they both went at the same time. I agree that the defensive guy hit him a little early. And what was that, about a 30 yard gain? And then the guy makes a 51-yard field goal to win it. That's just good fortune. You just say thank you Lord and get ready for the next game when those things happen."

Chiefs fans won't like it, but Spurrier isn't wrong. That was the Bengals' game to win. But they let it slip away.

The defensive pass interference call at the end of the game was the correct call. But it was also good fortune for Kansas City. There's no guarantee that pass is completed if there's no interference (and the game would've essentially been over at that point).

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. I'm sure the Bengals wouldn't mind switching places with the Chiefs after that one.

I am saying that the referee cheated the Bengals cause it was supposed to be 2 penalty on that last play pass interference on the Bengals and hold call on offense lineman
