When the Tennessee Vols take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night in Norman, they'll be lining up against a familiar face.

Former Vols defensive lineman Da'Jon Terry is in his second season with the Sooners after spending the 2021 and 2022 seasons at Tennessee (Terry started his college career at Kansas in 2019).

The former three-star recruit is a key player in Oklahoma's defensive line rotation.

Terry, who has seven tackles and a fumble recovery through three games this season, was teammates with several of Tennessee's current offensive linemen, including starting center Cooper Mays and right guard Javontez Spraggins, so there's plenty of familiarity for the former Vol.

There's no bad blood between Da'Jon Terry and Tennessee

Terry spoke to reporters on Monday ahead of this weekend's showdown between Oklahoma and Tennessee and it was obvious that there's no bad blood between him and the Vols.

"It was amazing," said Terry when asked what it was like to play for Josh Heupel at Tennessee. "Coach Josh Heupel is a players' coach, it was amazing to have Coach Heupel as a coach there at Tennessee."

Terry also called his former Tennessee teammates his "brothers".

This isn't the only time this season that the Vols will face some former teammates. After taking on Oklahoma, Tennessee will then play at Arkansas (after a bye week), where they'll line up against former Vols offensive lineman Addison Nichols and former UT defensive back Doneiko Slaughter.

Welcome to the transfer portal error. This is now the norm.
