The Detroit Lions made a couple expected moves on Tuesday after dealing with some injuries after Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. Here's what they did:

Placed Marcus Davenport and Derrick Barnes on injured reserve

There's no shock with either of these really. Davenport is a season ending injury that we've known about since Monday. Barnes is a little more of a story.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell talked on Monday about the possibility of putting Barnes on the IR and that the team wasn't sure yet and wanted to get some more tests done. Looks like they heard what they needed to hear to make the move. Barnes will be out for at least four games.

These two moves opened up two roster spots.

Signed Tim Patrick to 53-man roster

We've been expecting this move for couple weeks now. The Lions have played Patrick in 30 or more snaps in the last two games and have talked about wanting to get him more involved in the offense. They'll forgo his final practice squad elevation and get it done now.

This takes care of one roster spot. The Lions still have one open spot left.

Signed Morice Norris to practice squad

This is a solid move to bring Norris back. He was a guy that many believed was going to make the 53-man roster before getting hurt during camp. Now that he's healthy again, the Lions are bringing him back. Norris offers a lot of versatility and could be a strong piece of the Lions secondary in the future.
