The Oregon Ducks have a quarterback in Dillon Gabriel that, statistically, is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He leads the country in completion percentage, and while the offense looked like it was trying to find itself over the first couple weeks, they kicked it into high gear in Week 3 against the Oregon State Beavers.

Notably, Gabriel is closing in on some all-time quarterback records. With 131 career passing touchdowns, Gabriel is currently tied for fourth place all-time with Colt Brennan, Rakeem Cato, and Baker Mayfield. He's three touchdowns away from being tied for third place all-time with Graham Harrell and Sam Hartman.

Gabriel continues his climb. His next touchdown pass will have him in sole possession of fourth all-time.

He's also climbing the list of passing yard leaders as well. Gabriel is currently only 14 yards behind Harrell for fourth all-time. He has a long way to go to catch Keenum at the top of the list; Gabriel would need to rack up 3,438 passing yards to join Keenum at the top of the list, which currently doesn't seem likely. With 1,294 passing yards, however, Gabriel would reach second all-time.

UCLA's passing defense has not been strong this year. The Bruins are allowing 295.3 passing yards per game, and 10.8 yards per completion. They've also given up eight passing touchdowns.

Their run defense has been the stronger aspect, allowing only 3.2 yards per carry and 92.0 rushing yards per game. To be fair, they haven't gone against a rushing attack with as much talent as Oregon has, and last week's game showcased that their broken tackle rate and safety play could make it a long day for the Bruins defense against the Ducks. This will prove to a big a big test for their early-season trends in run defense. Oregon has rushed for 5.2 yards per carry and 175.0 yards per game through their first three outings, while also averaging a robust 11.4 yards per pass.

With a stronger run defense than pass defense, Gabriel should have his opportunities to attack the Bruins through the air, adding to his hunt for several career records.
