The Georgia Bulldogs will be without wide receiver London Humphreys when they take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa this Saturday night.

The sophomore transfer from Vanderbilt is fighting mono , according to several reports.

While Humphreys isn't a top receiver for the Dawgs, he's still a key part of their wide receiver rotation, and his presence will be missed.

However, this could mean more opportunities for Georgia sophomore wide receiver Anthony Evans .

Evans, who has been a standout on Georgia's special teams, would be the next guy in line behind Humphreys since he can also play both slot and Z positions.

His versatility is something head coach Kirby Smart admires about him.

"Anthony is number one, tough. He's aggressive. He has a lot of confidence in his return skills, and he has a lot of confidence in his receiver skills," Smart said of Evans following Week 2's win over Tennessee Tech. "He has worked really hard at two positions in our offense, both the slot and the Z. You know, with some receiver injuries through camp and just not a lot of depth, he worked at two positions.

"First of all, to play those two positions in our offense, you have to be extremely smart, and he's gone out there and done a great job of repping at Z and F. I'm really proud of what he's done there. He's had a bigger impact on the games as a return and he works really hard at that. He takes a lot of pride. I'm hard on him as a returner because I have a high standard of what that position and decision-making should be. He's extremely aggressive, and I want him to keep being smart with the ball."

Evans has played 20 offensive snaps so far this season and has logged one reception for 11 yards.

It would only be fitting for Evans to see more action against Alabama since the last time he played them in the SEC championship he returned a punt for 28 yards which put the Bulldogs in a perfect position for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Georgia will need that kind of spark again not only on their special teams, but also on their offense.

Aside from Evans, Georgia also has Dillon Bell, Dominic Lovett, Arian Smith, and Colbie Young who are all healthy.
