Packers do the expected with Jordan Love, but there are more concerning pieces of injury news

For the third Friday in a row, the Green Bay Packers are listing quarterback Jordan Love as questionable to play. This time around, versus the Minnesota Vikings, the hope is that the starter will finally be able to come back from the MCL sprain he suffered in week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

Love was limited throughout the week, but it's now been three weeks since he got injured — and the prognostic indicated three to six weeks of recovery period.

Ahead of the week 2 game against the Indianapolis Colts , Jordan Love hadn't practiced. He was initially listed as questionable, but downgraded to doubtful on Saturday — which clearly indicated he wasn't going to play. Last week, before the Tennessee Titans game , Love practiced and, according to his own words, were 'pretty close' to playing. He didn't, though, and Malik Willis had two consecutive starts.

This week, according to NFL Network's insider Ian Rapoport , Jordan Love has a better chance of playing.

    Injury report

The worst piece of news of the Friday for the Packers is that cornerback Jaire Alexander, with a quadricep injury, did not practice. He is officially listed as questionable to play.

"That's a concern, for sure," head coach Matt LaFleur said after practice. "Any time a guy doesn't practice, that's a concern."

Alexander's availability is particularly important because Carrington Valentine (ankle) is also banged up and listed as doubtful, so he's unlikely to play. A combination of Eric Stokes, Corey Ballentine, and Keisean Nixon wouldn't be the ideal group to cover a Vikings' receiving core that has Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jalen Nailor.

First-round rookie guard Jordan Morgan (shoulder) has been ruled out.

Defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), left guard Elgton Jenkins (rest), tight ends Tucker Kraft (shoulder) and Luke Musgrave (quadricep), center Josh Myers (shoulder), wide receiver Jayden Reed (calf/quadricep), right tackle Zach Tom (quadricep), and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (shoulder) are all off the injury report and good to go.

    Other side

The Minnesota Vikings will be mostly healthy against the Packers. Wide receiver Jordan Addison, who missed the last couple of games with an ankle injury, is off the injury report and good to go.

Quarterback Sam Darnold (knee), edge defender Dallas Turner (knee), and left tackle Christian Darrisaw (illness) will also be available. Off-ball linebacker Ivan Pace (ankle) has been ruled out, though.
