One day before the highly anticipated matchup on Saturday evening between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide, betting odds have experienced a notable shift.

Initially, the Bulldogs were slightly favored, but recent updates from sportsbooks now position the Crimson Tide as the favored team by a margin of one point, playing at home. Most books have seen the over/under settle at 49.5.

Despite almost 68 percent of moneyline bets going on Georgia, the books have still shifted in favor of Alabama. That's because 94 percent of the money went on Alabama to win. Only 47 percent of bettors had taken Alabama +2, but 56 percent of the money was on the Tide.

As you can see, the volume of bets has meant little compared to what whales and sharps are putting their stake in.

It's universally acknowledged that a tightly contested match is expected. Both teams enjoyed a bye in Week 4, allowing them to focus their preparations exclusively on this encounter. They both approach the game with an undefeated record of 3-0 for the season.

The Georgia Bulldogs have secured victories against Clemson, Tennessee Tech, and Kentucky, while the Alabama Crimson Tide have triumphed over Western Kentucky, USF, and Wisconsin.

This game has been a focal point of discussion throughout the offseason and stands as one of the marquee matchups of the college football season. It also introduces Kalen DeBoer to the storied rivalry between Alabama and Georgia, making it a critical test for the new head coach. BetMGM's odds reflect confidence in his capabilities.

Additionally, Kalen DeBoer's debut in this SEC showdown adds an intriguing narrative. His introduction to the league comes with a significant challenge, as he faces what is widely regarded as the premier program in college football currently.

With two national titles in the last three years, Georgia is once again among the top contenders for the 2024 championship.
