Dolphins confirm suspicion with QB decision vs Titans on Monday Night Football

The Miami Dolphins are turning to a former Pro Bowl QB this week against the Tennessee Titans, less than 2 weeks after signing him to their team.

Head Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed to media on Saturday that Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will be getting the nod for their home Monday Night Football game.

When franchise QB Tua Tagovailoa went down with another scary concussion in Week 2, the Dolphins first turned to longtime backup Skyler Thompson. Thompson started in Week 3 but couldn’t finish the game, getting knocked out with a painful chest injury in the 2nd half.

Third string passer Tim Boyle finished the game, but was entirely uninspiring.

This is the 2nd straight week the Titans have had to prepare for an opponent with an uncertain quarterback situation, but they’ve remained unbothered by challenge.

Coaches and players alike have said they’re prepared for whoever they face. In both cases, there’s been a strong suspicion as to who the opposing passer will be. Star defender Jeffery Simmons said on Wednesday that they were expecting to see Snoop Huntley on MNF. And if that were the case, they were expecting a similar gameplan to what they saw from Malik Willis and the Packers in Week 3.

Facing a backup always feels like a must-win spot, and this is far from an exception for the Titans. Staring down a fatal 0-4 start to their 2024 season, the pressure has never been higher to get a win on the road.
