Bucs get some great news and a gut punch on the eve of key matchup with Eagles

Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans got hit with some great news and a hard truth the day before the Bucs and Eagles face off on Sunday in Tampa.

The Bucs will be without right tackle Luke Goedeke for a third straight game as he works to recover from a concussion.  He was downgraded from questionable to out on Saturday.

Goedeke suffered a concussion against the Washington Commanders and missed the team's games against Detroit and Denver.  But a concussion is something that can't be rushed back from, so Justin Skule will again draw the start as Goedeke works to clear concussion protocol before the Bucs' next contest against Atlanta on Thursday.

Rachaad White popped up on the report on Saturday due to an illness.  His availability could be critical, given Bucky Irving is questionable for the game due to a hamstring injury that's limited him this week.

On the flip side of things, the Bucs managed to get some very good news, and it had nothing to do with their own roster.

Eagles star receiver AJ Brown has been downgraded to out with a hamstring injury that's kept him out of his team's previous two games.  In addition to Brown, Devonta Smith is also out for the game after suffering a concussion against New Orleans last week.

As such, the Eagles' passing game could be severely limited on Sunday.  We'll find out at 1:00 pm ET if the Buccaneers can take advantage inside the friendly confines of Raymond James Stadium.
