Tom Brady just made the Chicago Bears QB misery worse with latest comments during FOX broadcast

The Windy City was almost Tom Brady's newest landing spot after leaving the New England Patriots after the 2019 season.

That's no rumor.  That's straight from the horse's (or in this case, the GOAT's) mouth.

Brady is in Tampa handling the FOX broadcast for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles contest, and in the fourth quarter, Brady laid a bombshell of a revelation about his plans after leaving the Patriots.

"Chicago was as team - and I never told that story before - they were very stealth in their recruitment.  I was seriously considering them.  But in the end, it came down to Tampa, and it was close to my son, Jack.  I love Bruce Arians and the role that he played in offense and ultimately the great players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin that I'm still out there watching today."

Sorry Bears fans.  It's hard to imagine things getting worse quarterback wise for a franchise as far as what's been actually on the field.  Adding in losing out in what seems like a close decision to secure the services of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game isn't just a tiny red cherry on top.  It's a planet-sized cherry.

Ultimately, the Bears just couldn't match the Buccaneers when it came to a number of different factors.  Proximity to his family mattered.  A wide receiver duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin was tough to beat.  Bruce Arians - both the offensive system and relaxed environment he provides - was a perfect fit for Brady after two decades in New England.  And the warm weather is something else that Brady mentioned during the broadcast that was appealing for him.

Unfortunately, Chicago couldn't offer something comparable in those categories.  And as such, they watched him and Rob Gronkowski celebrate a Super Bowl in Buccaneer pewter and red on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Raymond James Stadium.

Oh, what could have been for the Monsters of the Midway.
