It's unusual to see Matt LaFleur so mad, but the first half of the Green Bay Packers loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday was one of those moments. The head coach was trying to call a timeout with the Packers losing 28-0, and the officials didn't hear it.

LaFleur was livid at them, and it was costly. The refs threw an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty flag, and the Packers went from a 2nd & goal from the one to the 16. Fortunately for LaFleur and the Packers, Jordan Love still found Jayden Reed for a touchdown, but LaFleur was still upset about his own approach to the situation.

"There were a lot of critical mistakes that we made, not all obviously by the players. I'm absolutely embarrassed by that unsportsmanlike," LaFleur said after the game. "You expect composure from your team and then you're doing that, that's a bad look. So, I think we all can be better, myself at the forefront of that. This is a humbling league at times, and credit to them, they did more than we did to win the game, and we gotta bounce back from it, gotta learn from it and get better."

LaFleur explained why the decision was made by the officials.

"It was too demonstrative. I didn't cuss at the official, but he said I was too demonstrative," LaFleur added. "So that's what he called."

The head coach was not mad because of a potential touchdown on the play — Romeo Doubs didn't have control of the ball inside the end zone, and secured the ball when he was already at the one-yard line. The issue for LaFleur was the timeout.

    Attitude

Despite being down 28-0 at that point, the Packers had a strong effort in the second half to make it a surprisingly close game. The Vikings still won, 31-29, but LaFleur was somewhat happy with how his team handled the negative circumstances.

"I'm super proud of our guys' effort. That's one thing, these guys battled," LaFleur highlighted. "It's interesting when you're down 28-0, how you're gonna respond. You saw the character of our locker room in terms of how guys went out and competed. Because the second half didn't start great either. Our guys kept competing, kept battling, and for that I'm super proud of the guys. We just have to clean some stuff up and take advantage of some opportunities that we didn't."

The Packers are 2-2 in the season, and next Sunday the team faces the Los Angeles Rams in California.
