AFC South Update: Titans path to redemption gets harder and rival loses starting QB

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Titans are 0-3 and looking to get in the win column against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football in Week 4.

Even with a disappointing start to the season, Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd told the media this week that the AFC South is still a winnable division. Tennessee’s locker room has not lost hope.

but results from around the AFC South on Sunday have made Tennessee's path to redemption even more challenging.

"If you look at the conference, you've got two wins with the Texans and the Colts have one win. It's still winnable," said Tyler Boyd earlier this week. Both the Texans and the Colts picked up victories on Sunday afternoon.

Houston improved to 3-1 while the Colts improved to 2-2. For a while, it looked as if the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) were in control of the game in Houston. But Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were stopped on the goal line in the fourth quarter and choked away a game they should have won.

Fumbling away that win not only put the nail in the Jaguars' coffin, it also made things look extra dire for Tennessee. Had Jacksonville won, the Titans would have been able to get within one game of first place with a victory on Monday Night Football.

Indianapolis lost quarterback Anthony Richardson to a hip injury on Sunday. But veteran Joe Flacco stepped in and played very well in his place. There's an argument to be made that the Colts could be better off with Flacco under center moving forward. There's more consistency with Flacco than there is with a young quarterback like Richardson. That has been proven through four weeks now.

Tennessee must take things one game at a time. If they have any hope of getting back in the mix in the AFC South, it starts with a win on Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins.
