The Georgia Bulldogs did not look their best against the Alabam Crimson Tide, which resulted in a 41-34 loss on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

However, there was at least one positive takeaway from the defeat: redshirt senior safety Dan Jackson.

Jackson was flying all over the field as he logged 10 tackles and a red zone interception against Bama.

His outstanding performance didn't fly under the radar in the eyes of NFL legend and three-time Pro Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe.

"Hey, that safety for Georgia, number 17, he can play," Sharpe said of Jackson on his Night Cap podcast . "He can play. No, he can play. He's going to play on Sundays. Cause he's got that kind of ability. He's got skills."

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson also chimed in with his thoughts on the Georgia-Alabama showdown.

"This is the closest that you're going to get to an NFL game," Johnson said. "Because of all of the talent that is on the teams. If you can stand out on film in a game like this when it's Georgia vs. Alabama where it's a bunch of four or five-star players, and you stand out on film like the safety you just called out, you're special."

Jackson, a former 2019 walk-on out of North Hall High in Gainesville, is currently third on the team with 19 tackles (13 solo), one interception, a pass defended, and one fumble recovery through four games.

He had previously worked his way up from the scout team to a starting job with the Dawgs.

Following Week 1's win over Clemson, head coach Kirby Smart said Georgia was "lucky" to have Jackson on the team.

“We’re lucky to have Dan Jackson because we fell into it, and we didn’t do one thing to earn Dan being here,” Smart said. “He came to us, and he’s made himself into a really good football player, but he did that through hard work. It’s proof that if you stick around and you have toughness and you’re smart, you’re going to play."
