It was a tale of two halves for the Georgia Bulldogs against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Georgia's offense couldn't get anything going while the defense missed several tackles and let Jalen Milroe and the Tide take a giant lead as they racked up 30 points before halftime.

The Bulldogs fought hard after the half and managed to score 27 points to make the score closer. But one last big-time 75-yard touchdown from Bama's Ryan Williams , and a third interception thrown by Carson Beck, would ultimately end the game with Alabama winning, 41-34 .

How do the Bulldogs respond after a tough loss like that?

Head coach Kirby Smart spoke to the media on Monday where he said that, despite the loss, not too much will change as far as overall preparation goes ahead of their Week 6 home game against the Auburn Tigers.

"I think we have a very set routine here, and we don't make our routine based on outcomes," Smart said. "So whatever number of wins we've had prior to this one, we did the same thing we're going to do today. And I really believe in that process. I believe in, you know, telling the truth about the opponent, telling the strengths and weaknesses of who you're about to play, and that you coach every week."

While a win would have been preferred, the good news is that this isn't the end of the road for the Bulldogs. In fact, it's just the beginning as they have plenty of football left to play.

Until then, Smart says the Dawgs are going to work on their communication as coaches and players and adjust their game plan moving forward to make sure that everyone is on the same page.

Other than that, Smart remains pretty confident in his squad.

"Put together packages of plays that sequence, making sure the players understand exactly what the plan is, how to do them," Smart said. "Each game's been different. Clemson game was different than the Kentucky game. The Kentucky game was different than the Alabama game. The Alabama game, first play of the game, we have a great play open up and then we have a shot play that we think is going to work and we don't hit it. Then we have an OPI that's rarely called, but it's called and then you're behind the eight ball. But it's not that it was unsuccessful, it was that, hey, we had a plan to attack, but didn't hit on some of those. You've got to come back the next drive and flip the field.

"I'm always looking at it, did we create field position advantage if we weren't explosive? We did in the first drive, but then we didn't for a while and there was a little bit of lack of communication. So there's a lot of things that go into that and I think it's very clear that we've got to execute and communicate better, but I also think we have the players to do it with. I'm very confident in our offense and our offensive players."

Smart added that the players have been in "good spirits" since the loss and are looking forward to their next opportunity against Auburn this Saturday.
