Giants working out QB C.J. Beathard

Beathard , according to Tom Pelissero.

This decision could absolutely be something, or it could be nothing at all. New York may be intrigued in adding a different veteran, alongside Drew Lock, behind Jones. Tommy DeVito is currently the third option for the offense at quarterback.

Beathard has been a bit of a journeyman throughout his career, spending time with the San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars. He is thirty years old.

Beathard was a third-round draft pick from the University of Iowa. The QB began his NFL career with the 49ers and enjoyed some productive starts, actually.

As a rookie, he totaled a career-high 123 completions for 1,430 yards, four TDs, and six interceptions. With those numbers, you can tell that it was a mixed bag with him on the field.

He's not a starting level QB in the NFL, but his mental game has been applauded by coaches in the past. Beathard could be an addition that New York targets if they want to supply a different tone in their room.

Keep an eye on him this week and later in the season if any Giants QB deals with an injury down the road.

They would have been better off getting Flacco when he was available
