Quote from Steve Spurrier after Week 4 of the NFL season will get Tom Brady riled up

Future NFL Hall of Famer Tom Brady will probably roll his eyes at a recent quote from former Florida Gators head coach Steve Spurrier.

Spurrier is more closely associated with college football due to his time as the head coach at Duke, Florida, and South Carolina, but he also has some deep connections to the NFL (beyond his short stint as an NFL head coach in the early 2000s).

The Head Ball Coach spent nearly a decade as a player in the NFL, playing for the San Fransisco 49ers from 1967 to 1975 before spending his final season in 1976 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Spurrier still keeps a close eye on the Buccaneers. And after watching Tampa Bay's 33-16 win against the Philadelphia Eagles this past week, Spurrier suggested that Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is playing just as good as Brady did during his time in Tampa.

"The Bucs looked really good," said Spurrier during his weekly appearance on Another Dooley Noted Podcast . "The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oh yeah, they played extremely well. They look like a good team. Baker Mayfield is taking over for Brady and looks just as good as him right now . So they got a chance to really go this year."

Brady, who won seven Super Bowls as a player, is extremely competitive. It will almost certainly irk Brady to hear Spurrier suggest that Mayfield is playing "just as good" as him -- especially after last week's "controversy" between Mayfield and Brady (which started when Mayfield said the environment in Tampa with Brady was "stressful").

Maybe Brady will respond to Spurrier's comments from the Fox Booth in Week 5.
