The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly making a move to try to fill a need. They Seahawks have dealt with a plethora of injuries along their offensive line. Accordingly, they are trying to add some OL depth after a strong 3-1 start to the 2024 season.

Seahawks to sign OT Jason Peters

Peters is expected to join the Seahawks practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero.

Peters will play his 21st season in the NFL at 42 years old. Peters was undrafted in 2004. No player drafted in that class is playing in the league anymore.

The veteran OL played in eight games in 2023. He made two starts with Seattle last season, too. The Seahawks hosted Peters on a visit last Tuesday.

Charles Cross has been a great option at one tackle spot for Seattle. Meanwhile, on the other side, there have been some struggles both last year and to begin 2024.

Peters could step in at some point as the starter opposite of Cross, but at minimum, the lineman can be proven depth and leadership for a fairly young unit.

Stone Forsythe, a former third-string option at the RT spot, has been thrust into a starting role. Abraham Lucas was placed on the PUP before the season began. George Fant was set to replace Lucas, but he also suffered an injury.

The Seahawks would be completely unprepared if Forsythe were to suffer an injury. The inexperienced trio of McClendon Curtis, and rookies Michael Jerrell and Sataoa Laumea are the options behind Forsythe. -- Seahawks Wire

Adding Peters makes sense on multiple levels for Seattle. We will see how his role shakes out this season.
