USC Trojans just barely kept one of their biggest streaks alive before they even stepped foot in Minnesota

The USC Trojans football team is one of the more historic schools in college football history, with nine National Championships, and eight Heisman winners. When the Trojans are good, college football is better as a whole.

There are a lot of things the team is known for and things they have done well. Of course, they're known for the Coliseum and the Peristyle, among other things. But, one of the really cool things that their football program has done, will continue to be in-tact through 2025.

They barely made the cut, though.

USC has the longest-standing history of not playing an FCS school in football, ever. They have never played a school that's not an FBS school.

Their 2025 schedule was not fully done until Wednesday when the athletic department announced that the Trojans would be playing Missouri State next season, which is currently an FCS school.

However, in 2025, they will play their inaugural FBS season, meaning the Trojans just missed the cut.

The Missouri State Bears are currently 3-2 on the year and will be joining Conference-USA in 2025. This game is just now being announced because there was a hole left in the schedule from 2020 when Ole Miss backed out of a home and away.

Along with the Bears, the Trojans will also play two other non-conference games against Georgia Southern at home and Notre Dame on the road.

The Trojans don't take the easy road often. They just do not play FCS schools, and it will stay that way for at least another season.
