Browns are trending toward getting a big helping hand back when facing the Commanders

Cleveland has not had one of their biggest weapons on offense since the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys . With as bad as the struggling offense has been through four games, the Browns will gladly welcome him back.

David Njoku practiced on Wednesday and should be back for the Browns in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders. A sprained ankle suffered against the Cowboys has sidelined Njoku for the last three weeks, though he has practiced some as of recently.

Expect to see Njoku practice in full at some point this week against the Commanders. If not, the Browns really fumbled the injury by not placing him on the injured reserve for four games to open a roster spot. Therefore, we are likely to see him out there as long as practice goes fine this week with no setbacks.

Deshaun Watson was fine last game but adding Njoku to the field is going to make his job easier. The Pro Bowl talent is key for the Browns as a blocker in the run game. Njoku is much like a wide receiver in this offense at times and the Browns are going to feed him the football when he returns to the field at points.

Njoku had four catches for 44 yards against the Cowboys and is coming off a career season last year. Njoku was named to his first Pro Bowl in season No. 7, thanks to a career-high 882 yards and six touchdowns.

Cleveland has not gotten what they expected from Amari Cooper. Jerry Jeudy has been a welcomed addition but no one else is really standing out in the wide receiver room. Bringing back a big weapon like Njoku will be a big boost for the pass-catching groups .

At 1-3 on the season, the Browns need all of the help they can get. Getting one of their best players back on offense may just be what they need to get over the hump on Sunday in Washington against the Commanders.

Not gonna help. Bad coach, bad scheme, bad play calling, horrible QB, declining D. Loss of three First round picks hurts a lot. The future is bleak.
