Seahawks defense receives a very significant boost following its worst performance of the season

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off their worst defensive performance of the season, having given up 389 yards and allowed Jared Goff to go a perfect 18 for 18 throwing the ball in a Monday Night Football loss to the Detroit Lions.

After that kind of showing, the Seahawks are in need of a 'get right' game on defense, and the latest news surrounding the New York Giants suggests they may get one.

The Giants ruled rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers out of the Week 5 matchup with Seattle at Lumen Field because of a concussion he suffered in the Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Nabers' absence robs the Giants of their most potent pass-catching threat.

The sixth overall pick leads the Giants with 386 receiving yards and three touchdowns through four games.

Without him, the Giants' offense is light on playmakers, with WanDale Robinson (194) and Darius Slayton (122) the only other players over 100 yards receiving.

That does not guarantee that the Seahawks are set to rebound on defense and dominate against Daniel Jones and Co. However, after benefiting from favorable matchups at home against Bo Nix and Skyler Thompson already this season, the odds are once again stacked in Seattle's favor.
