Alabama's potential trap game against Vanderbilt just got that much harder following latest injury news

The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to square off with the Vanderbilt Commodores, in what is surely a trap game.

Coming off their biggest win of the year against the Georgia Bulldogs , an afternoon kick against an away team as a multiple TD favorite could lead to complacency, though Kalen DeBoer is preparing his players accordingly.

Well, following the latest update regarding WR Kendrick Law, DeBoer's team will need to be even sharper:

Kendrick Law Ruled Out at Vanderbilt

Law may only have two receptions on the season, but those who have watched the Tide this year know how valuable he is to the offense. QB Jalen Milroe and Alabama's stable of backs can't attack the perimeter in their wide zone and gap runs if not for excellent blocking from the WRs.

And if Law isn't the team's best blocking pass catcher, then he's a close second.

From an optimistic standpoint, Law's availability following the lower body injury he suffered in the first half of last week's game shouldn't be too serious, as HC Kalen DeBoer wouldn't rule him out as weekly as Wednesday.

"I wouldn’t rule him out,” DeBoer said on Wednesday. “But he’s still working through it. Not a for-sure thing or anything right now at this point. Unsure what that will look like here at the end of the week.”

The focus now shifts to Law getting healthy ahead of next week's matchup with South Carolina, and the huge matchup in two weeks with the Tennessee Volunteers .
