For the second time in as many seasons, the Green Bay Packers have to suspend one of their own players. On Saturday, the team announced that wide receiver Romeo Doubs is suspended for one game, and he didn't travel with the roster to California, where the Packers face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Doubs didn't practice on Thursday and Friday. Reportedly, he's unhappy with his role within the offense .

"Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week's game," said Gutekunst via an official statement. "His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week."

Last year, the Packers suspended cornerback Jaire Alexander after an incident during the Carolina Panthers game.

    Roster moves

With the available roster spot, the Packers promoted cornerback Robert Rochell to the 53-man roster. He had already been elevated from the practice squad twice, but this is a standard promotion, so he is now a member of the active roster.

The Packers also elevated fullback Andrew Beck from practice squad for gameday — it's his first elevation of the season, and he will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.

Interestingly, even if Christian Watson (ankle) is doubtful and Romeo Doubs is out, the Packers decided not to elevate any wide receiver. The available options are Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath.
