Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb has simple but firm response to unnecessary Dak Prescott narrative

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-2 following a hard-fought win against the Pittsburgh Steelers that took a last minute touchdown on fourth and goal to pull off.

It wasn't the prettiest game and a big part of that were multiple Dak Prescott mistakes, including two interceptions and one fumble lost. The quarterback's struggles inevitably led to some exaggerated conversations on social media, one of which revolved around the narrative that Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were upset at each other.

"Me and Dak are good, me and Dak are good," Lamb told reporters with a tone and expression that showed some confusion as to why he was being asked about it. "We had how many incompletions? Two, three? Just getting on the same page obviously, and we'll be fine."

During the NBC broadcast, a sideline exchange was shown in which Lamb appears to say something to Prescott, who doesn't even seem to acknowledge the receiver while locked in on the tablet. The television crew made a good job of portraying it as a dramatic moment but chances are it was much simpler than that.

"I'll let you read your own lips," said Chris Collinsworth on the broadcast booth, adding to the drama.

The way I see it, it's a totally unnecessary narrative. Lamb doesn't seem to be upset at Dak, and it appears like he was just trying to get the two of them to adjust for the next time they were in that spot.

Although we can't know for sure what CeeDee said, this is one of the interpretations that makes the most sense given the context: "Jump ball, four, jump ball, I got you."

This happens all the time on an NFL sideline. Players adjust as the game goes on. Specially in a tough game like last night's, things aren't going to be all laughs and hugs. These are men at work, after all.

I've been critical of Lamb's attitude in the past but this is a narrative that should be squashed before it gains momentum. Things are fine between Prescott and his All-Pro receiver. Now it's about finding a way to get consistent results on offense.
