While the Ohio State Buckeyes are 5-0 on the season, all of their goals and things they want to accomplish remain distantly in front of them.

As always, beating Michigan is step No. 1 that leads into the postseason expectations for the team in Columbus every season. After three straight losses to the Wolverines, the pressure is higher than ever to beat them for Ryan Day and his team.

Michigan is a lot different this year. The team that won a National Championship a year ago was depleted. That goes for players and coaches in the program. One thing that has changed is no more Connor Stalions in Ann Arbor for Michigan . The former staffer that was accused of stealing signs for Michigan over the past couple seasons.

One former Buckeye gave some insight on a play that was potentially poached just last month.

“We tried to throw a tight end screen in a formation we’ve never used before — like ever — and as soon as I lined up out wide, we had one play from it,” former Ohio State tight end Cade Stover explained back in the beginning of September. “I was going to motion back in and they were going to throw a screen to me. And when they started yelling ‘screen!’ when you’re throwing a tight end screen, that’s when you know like, ‘What the f*** is this? We haven’t run this before’,” Stover said.

And now for the first time publicly at least, Stalions has responded to this sort of accusation from Stover.

“Here’s the thing. Ohio State had like eight signalers all year, (it was) something like that. Everyone signals the formation (that’s) mistake number one. Mistake number two, they never changed who their live signaler was the entire season,” Stalions said via Bussin’ With The Boys.

So, Stalions claims to have known where the signs were coming from the offense and admitted it wasn’t that hard to figure out. As far as the play itself goes, the former UM staffer pointed to his football knowledge.

“They motioned into Slot Y-Y. They signaled their signal for Slot Y-Y formation and then the guy who was live the entire season signaled Y then delay. Am I supposed to see that and be like, ‘Oh, I don’t know what this is.’ I said, ‘This has got to be a Y-delay screen.”

The Stalions and Michigan story remains pretty much unsolved from an NCAA standpoint, and he has sort of used the whole thing to get himself in the media with interview like this.

Since he is no longer with the Wolverines Stalions will one day likely be a person no one has heard about for a while, but for now he is still clapping back at former Buckeyes.
