Ohio State vs. Oregon Betting Prediction and Pick

Certainly, some may argue that Iowa was a preliminary challenge, but the real test for the Ohio State Buckeyes was yet to come. Last Saturday, Ohio State triumphed over Iowa with a convincing 35-7 win.

Will Howard delivered an impressive performance, completing 21 out of 25 passes for 209 yards, tossing four touchdowns, and suffering one interception.

On the running side, Quinshon Judkins made significant contributions, carrying the ball 13 times for a total of 78 yards. In this matchup, it was crucial for Ohio State’s defense to elevate their game.

On average, Ohio State has scored 46 points per game, while their defense has limited opponents to just 6.8 points per game.

With the offense being the 4th best in the league and the defense leading at number 1, it's the offense that usually grabs the headlines. However, in this particular game, the spotlight was on the defense to perform exceptionally well.

Oregon, with an undefeated record of 5-0, had the opportunity to make a significant statement with a win in this game. In their previous game against Michigan State, Oregon put up 31 points, securing a victory by 21 points.

Dillon Gabriel played a key role, completing 20 of his 32 pass attempts for 257 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jordan James also had a standout performance, with 24 carries for 166 yards and a touchdown.

For Oregon, starting strong was imperative in this game. The team’s offense has averaged 35 points per game, while their defense has conceded an average of 17 points per game.

Establishing an early lead was crucial for Oregon's strategy, with the offense ranked 32nd and the defense 21st in the league.

    Ohio State vs. Oregon Prediction

Both of these teams are very good, and it's hard to know how either will react to getting punched in the face for the first time by a team that can match the others' physicality, speed, and playmaking. However, there's a reason Boise State had Oregon on the brink of a terrible loss, and the Buckeyes have a rushing attack that can exploit the Ducks' weak linebacker corps.

I'll take the Buckeyes to cover once again.

Ohio State vs. Oregon Prediction: Ohio State -3
